Bhubaneswar: Odisha Higher Education Minister Arun Kumar Sahu today distributed laptops to +2 pass out meritorious students of Khurda district under Biju Yuva Sashaktikaran Yojana at a function organized for the purpose at the BJB Autonomous College here today.
“Laptops are being distributed for the last seven years. Under the Biju Yuva Sashaktikaran Yojana laptops are being distributed to meritorious students. Till date, 1.05 lakh students have received laptops. This has developed a competitive spirit among the students. This is an incentive,” the Minister said speaking to reporters soon after the function.
The Minister distributed laptops to 11 meritorious students at the function.
As many as 1,624 Plus pass out meritorious students will receive laptops under the scheme in Khurda district from the Nodal Centre at BJB Autonomous College here.
The 1,624 selected students include 997 from the General category, 260 from Scheduled Caste category and 367 from the Scheduled Caste category.
