Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government is determined to promote the meritorious and poor students by implementing the New Education Policy (NEP) in higher education stated Minister of Higher Education Suryabanshi Suraj during his visit to the department on Wednesday.
The Minister held a review meeting with Commissioner-cum-Secretary Arvind Agrawal and other staff after assuming charge.
Upon his arrival at the Department, Commissioner-cum-Secretary Arvind Agarwal, Special Secretary Pramod Kumar Mishra, Ramakant Nayak and other senior officials welcomed the Minister by offering flower bouquets and informed him about various programs, colleges, universities and activities of the department.
On being informed about the performance and issues of different colleges, universities, private, non- aided and block grant colleges of the State Suraj asked the Department officials to take necessary steps to resolve the same as soon as possible. He stressed on the enrollment and attendance of female students.
Suraj said that there will be no shortage of funds for infrastructure and other developmental activities for the colleges in the state.
He said that all the schemes & programmes launched by the Higher Education Department should be taken care of, especially, meritorious students should be the beneficiaries.
