Odisha: Honour And Assistance For Families Of Deceased COVID Warriors

Bhubaneswar: The State Government has approved the salary and pensions of three COVID warriors who lost their lives fighting the pandemic in Ganjam district.

In a letter to the family of these COVID warriors, Principal Secretary, Revenue and Disaster Management Department, Bishnupada Sethi stated, “Odisha is proud of their fearless commitment to the job and service to the society.”

They are: Arun Kumar Behera, Section Officer at Jagannathprasad Block office; Sachidananda Pattnayak, Senior Revenue Assistant at Khallikote Tehsil office; and Ramesh Chandra Panda, Chain-man at Buguda Tehil office.

The family of the COVID warriors who lost their lives in the line of duty, will get full salary till their date of retirement. Accordingly the family of Behera, Pattnayak and Panda will get their salaries. Post-retirement, family pension will also be disbursed, Sethi’s letter stated.

Their insurance will be covered under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan package. The insurance will be processed and disbursed soon.
