Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government on Tuesday suspended Executive Officer (EO) of Jharsuguda Municipality on various grounds, including dereliction of duty.
The step was taken as a part of the State Government’s zero tolerance policy towards corruption and inefficiency, a press communiqué said.
Housing and Urban Development (H&UD) Department suspended Jharsuguda EO Rama Chandra Pradhan as he is facing disciplinary proceedings on the grounds of disobedience of government orders, poor governance, non-performance, non-attainment of target and low performance in implementation of development works.
Pradhan has been placed under suspension until further orders.
During the suspension period, Pradhan’s headquarters will be Municipal Commissioner, Sambalpur and he has been directed not to leave the headquarters without permission of competent authorities.
“The Department has put all local bodies under scanner and in no mood to spare any one,” warned H&UD Principal Secretary G Mathi Vathanan.
