Odisha: Imposters Arrested By Special Squad In Bhubaneswar

**Bhubaneswar:** On the basis of specific inputs the Special Squad of Commissionerate of Police on Tuesday detained two persons who were allegedly impersonating as the employees of a leading cellular company, and conducting fake interviews. The duo were staying in at a local hotel here at Mancheswar.

During interrogation they confessed the involvement of other persons, who were apprehended on Kuakhai bridge. They were trying to escape in an SUV which was fitted with a blue beacon and Govt of India sign board.

The culprits also wielded firearms at the police but were overpowered. One country made pistol, two live ammunition, one air gun, one sword, a knife and a base ball stick along with the SUV were seized.

Besides, other incriminating documents including 15 nos forged of HSBC cheques, land agreement, forged identity card of the cellular company have been seized. In this connection two separate cases have been registered at Mancheswar police station.

The accused have been identified as Sumant Das and Sapan Haldar of Bardhaman, Ajaya Majhi of Behela, Nadan Jha of 24 Pragana, Ramesh Prasad of Bhawanipur and Gopal Yadav of 24 Pragana. They were forwarded to the court today. The Special Squad is investigating to ascertain the amount of money they have cheated and involvement of others in the case.
