Bhubaneswar: Odisha Industries Minister Sampad Chandra Swain informed the State Assembly on Friday that 168 firms have signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with the Odisha government over the past five years to set up industries in the state.
The Minister shared this information while responding to a query from BJP legislator Upasana Mohapatra, who represents the Brahmagiri constituency.
Minister Swain revealed that out of the 168 MoUs, 23 were signed between 2014 and 2024.
He further elaborated that 17 of these industries are set to become operational soon, while four have already been approved, and the next steps for their establishment are underway.
Application for the establishment of two more industries are yet to be received, he added.
The Minister also informed that 145 MoUs were signed during the Utkarsh Odisha Conclave held in January 2025.
A detailed list of these MoUs was shared with the Assembly.
