Bhubaneswar: Indian Rugby Football Union and KISS & KIIT signed an MoU at the Lok Seva Bhavan in the presence of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday. IRFU President Mahesh Mathai and KISS-KIIT CEO Prasant Routray inked the MoU on the behalf of the two parties.
KIIT University will be the first varsity in the country to sponsor National women’s and men’s Rugby teams. The IRFU will set up rugby high-performance centre at KIIT.
Naveen congratulated KISS on the occasion and said that in the coming years, the National Rugby team will bring laurels for the country.
Sports Minister Tusharkanti Behera, Lok Sabha Member Achyuta Samanta, Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy, Development Commissioner Suresh Mohapatra and National Ambassador for Rugby Rahul Bose were also present on the occasion.
