Odisha: ITI Student Dies After Falling Off Train While Returning From FANI Restoration Work

Rourkela: An ITI (Industrial Training Institute) student met with an unfortunate death on Wednesday night as he fell off a running train while he was returning to his home in Rourkela after FANI restoration work in Bhubaneswar. The deceased has been identified as Bhaskar Sahu.

Reportedly, he accidently slipped off the Intercity Express between Rajgangpur and Kansabahal stations on his way back from capital city. It is notable to mention here that Bhaskar and 36 other students had been deputed to Bhubaneswar in order to check domestic connections to avoid any untoward incident during sudden power restoration.

Following his death, the Director of the Department provided Rs 5 lakh ex-gratia to the kin of deceased.

Expressing discontent, the students of the Rourkela Govt ITI today staged protest and locked the main entrance gate demanding ex-gratia of Rs 25 lakh and government service to a family member of the deceased student.
