Odisha: Jumbo Mowed Down By Speeding Train In Keonjhar, Loco Pilot & Assistant Held

**Keonjhar:** The death of jumbos due to human callousness is on the rise since the last month. In an unfortunate incident, a female elephant was mowed down by a train near Ramachandrapur under Sadar forest range here late last night.

Reportedly, the incident occurred at around 9.55 pm on Wednesday night when a herd of pachyderms were crossing the railway tracks and a goods train from Joda was en-route the same track. While several other jumbos narrowly escaped the mishap, this one female elephant became prey to the speeding train.

On intimation for the Elephant Drive, forest officials rushed to the spot and reportedly the train has been halted for probe.
