Bhubaneswar: The tragic crash of the Air India Ahmedabad–London flight has sent shockwaves across the country, with Odisha’s top political leadership expressing deep sorrow and solidarity with the victims and their families.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, taking to X (formerly Twitter), said he was “deeply saddened” by the incident. “My thoughts and prayers are with all the passengers, crew members, and their families during this difficult time. I earnestly pray to Lord Shri Jagannath for the safety and swift recovery of everyone affected,” he posted, adding that Odisha stands in solidarity with the people of Gujarat and all those impacted by the tragedy.
Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo also conveyed his condolences, calling the crash in Ahmedabad’s Meghani Nagar “truly heartbreaking.” In his message, he said, “The loss of precious lives in such a devastating manner is profoundly saddening. My deepest condolences to the bereaved families. May they find strength in these difficult times.”
Meanwhile, Leader of the Opposition Naveen Patnaik expressed anguish over the crash, noting the severity of the disaster. “Deeply anguished to learn about the disastrous crash of #Ahmedabad–London Air India flight with hundreds of people onboard. My thoughts and prayers are with the families deeply affected in the tragic #planecrash,” he wrote on X.
As national efforts are underway for rescue, relief, and investigation, political leaders from Odisha have come together in shared grief, offering messages of compassion and solidarity for those affected by this tragic aviation disaster.
