Bhubaneswar: Odisha has emerged as a leader among the states in the Poshan Abhiyan, achieving significant milestones in nutrition and child welfare, according to recent data released by State authorities.

The State’s consistent efforts to combat malnutrition and promote community awareness have earned it top rankings across multiple parameters.

Odisha has achieved an impressive 99.98% Aadhaar verification of beneficiaries, securing the first position nationally for several consecutive periods. Additionally, the State has monitored the growth of 99.89% of children aged 0–6 years, ensuring early identification of nutritional needs.

As part of the ongoing Poshan Pakhya, Odisha has conducted over 30.98 lakh awareness programs to educate communities on nutrition and health. The people’s movements and community-based initiatives have reached a staggering 1.16 crore awareness activities, fostering widespread participation in the fight against malnutrition.

Further strengthening its infrastructure, Odisha has transformed over 8,400 Anganwadi centers into knowledge centres, serving as vital centres for nutrition education and child care services. In the Suposit Gram Panchayat campaign, 674 gram panchayats have been selected for verification, positioning Odisha as a frontrunner among states in this national initiative.
