Balasore: Palpable tension prevailed in Basta road on Friday morning as locals thrashed the Inspector-in-charge of Baliapal Police station following the death of a minor boy at a dhaba (roadside restaurant) last night.
As per reports, the boy had been working in the dhaba near IDCO square over the last few years. When the restaurant was opened for business this morning, the boy was found hanging from the ceiling.
On intimation, IIC reached the spot to probe into the death. Alleging murder and demanding immediate action, the locals and family members chased the cop and thrashed him. The officer was outnumbered by the people and was knocked down. After several minutes, the situation calmed down and the minor’s body was recovered for post-mortem.
