Odisha: Man Beaten Up Black & Blue By Villagers For ‘Child Theft’ In Balasore

**Balasore:** In a gruesome incident, villagers of Gundurimara village under Basta block took law into their hands as they thrashed a man black and blue over child theft suspicion here today afternoon.

According to reports, Anil Kumar Pal of Jharkhand’s Singhbhum area was allegedly trying to steal a three-year-old girl child and escape the village as soon as possible. However, a cattle rearer spotted him and immediately informed the villagers.

Enraged by the news, a group of irate villagers chased Anil and caught hold of him after three kilometers. After rescuing the baby, the mob thrashed him violently and physically injured him. A video of the thrashing has been doing the rounds on social media and has gone viral.

Later, he was handed over to the police and further probe into the matter is currently underway.
