Dhenkanal: The fact that blood is thicker than water was questioned by a drastic act of brothers attempting to kill each other over familial dispute.
The horrific incident occurred late Saturday at Belatikri village under Dhenkanal Sadar Police station limits.
The brothers- younger Bibhu Behera and the older Milu Behera had hostile behavior towards each other over family matters, locals said. The matters reached a height when Milu shot at Bibhu to take revenge of the fact that Bibhu had hurled a crude bomb at his elder brother. They had a heated altercation previously.
Currently, Bibhu is in a critical condition due to bullet injuries. He was first taken to District Headquarters Hospital, Dhenkanal and then later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack as his condition worsened.
On being informed the Sadar Police arrived on spot and rushed Bibhu to Dhenkanal hospital. They have initiated a probe in this matter.
