Odisha: Man Killed By Brother For Land, Body Exhumed From Ground In Nabarangpur

Nabarangpur: In a shocking incident, police recovered the decomposed body of a youth from underground in Badatemra village under Jharigaon block here today morning. The deceased has been identified as Chandan Jani.

After four days of interrogation, the cops were able to unravel the whole mystery behind Chandan’s death. Chandan and his cousin brother Bhuban Jani had a piece of land that they equally shared for farming activities. However, Bhuban was jealous for more land. He had threatened to kill Chandan several times and had also launched an attack on him with a wooden plank on Tuesday.

Later on Wednesday, Chandan had embarked on some work when he was abducted by Bhuban and his associates. Chandan’s wife filed a missing report when her husband did not return on Thursday. Turns out, Chandan had been strangled to death and his body had been buried in the outskirts of the village near a canal.

The cops have arrested Bhuban and four of his associates in connection with the incident. Further probe into the matter is currently underway.
