Keonjhar: A man was allegedly killed for the simple reason of trying to shield his sister-in-law during a familial argument that turned ugly. The incident occurred in Kumada village under Ghasipur police limits of Anandapur block of Keonjhar district.
The deceased has been identified as Dibakar Nayak.
As per reports, one Sipu Nayak and his father Ayodhya Nayak were verbally abusing a woman. Dibakar, being her brother-in-law, intervened and ended the matter, Dibakar’s mother has alleged that Dibakar’s intervention angered Sipu and hence he killed her son.
The body was discovered in a nearby field by the locals. On the basis of a complaint by Dibakar’s mother, Sipu has been taken into custody. As per last reports, the forensic team was awaited to screen the scene.
