Bhubaneswar: Odisha Mandap (Odisha Pavilion) has once again brought laurels to the state, winning the silver medal at the prestigious 43rd India International Trade Fair (IITF) 2024, held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. This marks the third consecutive year Odisha has been recognized at the event.
The award for thematic presentation was received by Vishal Gagan, Principal Resident Commissioner of Odisha in New Delhi, from Pradeep Singh Kharola, Chairman and Managing Director of the India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO). Additional Director Santosh Kumar Das, Director of Odisha Mandap Ashwini Kumar Bhoi, and Exhibition Officer Deepak Kumar Sahu were also present during the felicitation ceremony.
Themed “Vikshit Bharat, Vikshit Odisha” (Developed India, Developed Odisha), the Odisha Mandap stood out for its captivating design that seamlessly blended the state’s ancient architectural marvels with the narrative of India’s technological progress.
Highlights included a replica of the iconic Mukteswar temple gate at the entrance, as well as intricate models of the Konark Sun Temple, Ratnagiri’s Buddhist relics, and a futuristic bullet train, symbolizing Odisha’s journey from heritage to modernity.
Organized under the supervision of the Information and Public Relations Department of the Odisha government, the pavilion featured 25 stalls showcasing goods and products crafted by Odisha’s artisans.
Over 5 lakh visitors explored the Odisha Mandap during the 14-day event, contributing to business transactions exceeding ₹55 lakh. The pavilion also garnered significant interest from international buyers, keen on exploring Odisha’s unique offerings.
The India International Trade Fair, which commenced on November 14, concluded on November 27.
Odisha Mandap’s recognition reaffirms its position as a crowd favorite at the annual trade fair, showcasing the state’s rich heritage and developmental strides to a global audience.
