Bhubaneswar: The State Government approved the reformation and restructuring of Odisha Medical and Services (Dental) Cadre on November 15, 2021.
The order included enhancement of sanctioned strength of Dental Surgeons from 438 to 584, creating 146 posts in different ranks consisting of 1 post in the rank of AD Level-I, 15 posts in the rank of AD Level-II, 17 posts in the rank of JD, 31 posts in the rank of Group-A (SB) and 82 posts in the rank of Group-A (JB).
It also directed change in existing eligibility criteria in initial recruitment into OMS (Dental) Cadre and also for promotion to different ranks it is required to make necessary amendments in the existing ‘Odisha Medical Services (Method of Recruitment and Conditions of Service of Dental Surgeons) Rules, 2013’.
After taking all aspects into consideration the State Cabinet has approved the newly framed Odisha Medical Services (Method of Recruitment and Conditions of Service of Dental Surgeons) Rules, 2022 in supersession of Odisha Medical Services (Method of Recruitment and Conditions of Service of Dental Surgeons) Rules, 2013.
The orders intend to select meritorious and qualitative and deserving candidates. “The appointment to the Odisha Medical Services (Dental) Cadre will be done through a uniform qualitative and fair procedure of recruitment and their subsequent promotion to the next higher grades as well as for regulation of their service conditions, thereby to provide better dental care to the people across the State,”
