Malkangiri: A team of State Government doctors and para-medical staff traveled a rough and unfriendly terrain to make medical services available to the common people. The efforts have gained applause from several quarters after this team successfully reached ‘Tulasi Pahad’ in Mathili block.
One has to cross at least 10 small and big hills to reach the sparsely populated Tulasi Pahad. This medical team covered the entire distance of 18 km on foot and set up a medical camp.
The joy of the inhabitants after seeing the medical team knew no bounds. From the past couple of weeks, the scare of an unknown disease is haunting the locals. Now with doctors and paramedical staff at service, the locals are relieved and their treatment has started.
The team comprised of a doctor, nurses, an Anganwadi supervisor, and helpers. Apart from distributing free medicines at the camp, the blood samples of the affected persons were also tested and other medical tests were conducted.
Unfriendly terrain and Maoist threat have been a major hurdle for the medical teams to access the region. However, the step taken by this medical team has wiped the woes of Tulasi Pahad inhabitants to a great extent, said, locals.
