**Bhubaneswar:** While the State Capital denizens are waiting with bated breaths for the commencement of the upcoming Men’s Hockey World Cup, the Commissionerate of Police is already on its toes for security of the international event.
Police Commissioner Satyajit Mohanty said that an armed battalion under the supervision of DCP (Armed) of the Twin City police will gaurd the event’s venue Kalinga Stadium.
Though a number of tasks are being undertaken on the stadium’s premises, the Twin City police will start round the clock surveillance from Friday onwards.
The Sports Department has been requested to mount CCTV cameras at sensitive locations. There will be constant monitoring of the CCTV cameras and the entry and exit points of the venue, he said.
“We are also coordinating with the event management team for making provisions of drone cameras for fool proof security of the stadium. Frisking of visitors and workers will begin from November 9,” Mohanty added.
