Odisha Minister Rescues Accident Victim, Earns Praise From Naveen

Bhubaneswar: Women and Child Development Minister Tukuni Sahu rescued an accident victim near Kandhakel Chhak in Gudbhelar area here today. As per reports, a 28-year-old woman was seriously injured after falling from a motorcycle she was riding pillion. The woman was travelling with her husband.

Sahu, who was on her way to attend a programme at Gudvela, spotted the victim and facilitated her transfer to Saintala community health centre. “I have directed the authorities to shift her to the Balangir district headquarters hospital for better treatment if required. The state government will bear the expenses of her treatment,” the minister said.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik hailed the ‘selfless service’ of the Minister. “Service to mankind is one of the core ethos to build a worthy society,” he said.
