Bhubaneswar: Three lakh employees of 32 departments of the Odisha government, including the ministerial staff, on Wednesday announced that they have deferred their cease work agitation.
Chittaranjan Tarasia, convener of the Odisha government ministerial staff association, said that they have put off the statewide cease-work strike an assurance from 5T Chairman VK Pandian.
“The government has assured us to fulfill our demands within 10 days,” Tarasia said.
Around 30,000 ministerial officers under the banner of the Odisha Amala Sangha had threatened to go on an indefinite cease-work strike across the state to press for their demand for a hike in their pay grade.
Currently, their grade pay is Rs 1,900 and they are demanding that it be raised to Rs 4,200.
Earlier too the association had put its state-wide stir on hold after 16 days. They had launched the agitation on June 1.
