Odisha: ‘MO BUS’ World Cup Hockey Shuttle Service From November 27

**Bhubaneswar:** The ‘MO BUS’ World Cup Hockey shuttle service, by Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT) is all set to take off from November 27, for the 19-day Men’s World Cup Hockey (WCH) League.

The shuttle service would be available on Janata Maidan to Kalinga Stadium route from 3.30 PM in the afternoon to 11 pm at night. This shuttle ride is primarily for the Hockey enthusiasts, festival goers and tourists interested to connect with the World Cup at Kalinga Stadium, and Bhubaneswar city festival .FEST, showcasing music, entertainment and culture.

As the euphoria of World Cup Hockey League inaugural ceremony sets in, a fleet of 15 AC (fare Rs 30) and 15 non AC (fare Rs 15) MO BUS shuttle service is in place for visitors to ride up to venue in time for the exclusive sports and culture extravaganza.

Route Activation Plan: There are 30 MO BUS WCH shuttles, which would also cater to Bhubaneswar .FEST. In addition, 16 MO BUS on Route no 10, for Nandankanan- Jaydev Vihar- Airport road, would intensify the connectivity to Kalinga Stadium. Besides, four more routes would have assured MO BUS service. Route no.14- Tamando- JaydevVihar- Rasulgarh has seven Non AC shuttles and seven more MO BUS are available on Route no. 20- Khurda- JaydevVihar- Master Canteen route. 16 more MO BUS are plying on Route no. 24-Kalinga Vihar – Jaydev Vihar –Rasulgarh-Kalpana-Sai Temple; and 10 MO BUS would cover Route no. 27, i.e. AIIMS – JaydevVihar – Master Canteen route, ensuring improved commute to Kalinga Stadium.

For the International Hockey event, there would be eight to ten MO BUS WCH shuttles stationed at each stadium gate, with headways of two minutes, for prompt dispersal of exiting public. Additionally, a robust operational plan is in place for effective crowd management.

Free car park and ride facility is available for car owners, at Janata Maidan, for the entire duration World Cup Hockey and Bhubaneswar City Festival. Official sources say that 30 Guides would be available for ground service and 30 additional Guides would be in readiness at the depot for rapid deployment. Spare MO BUS Captains would also be promptly available in case the need springs up. Specially positioned Depot Manager and Asst Depot Manager would supervise the systematic dispatch of shuttles. In addition, special Revenue Assurance Teams (RAT) would ensure smooth ticketing services, and to mete out penalty in case of violations.
