Odisha MP Baijayant Panda Bags “Parliamentarian Of the Year Award”

**Bhubaneswar: ** BJD MP from Odisha’s Kendrapara Lok Sabha constituency, Baijayant Panda, has been conferred on with the coveted “Parliamentarian Of the Year Award” for his efforts towards raising key social and economic reforms both inside and outside the Parliament.

Panda was bestowed with the crowning glory at the 50th SKOCH Summit on Thursday in New Delhi.

Baijayant ‘Jay’ Panda is currently serving his 4th term in the Parliament of India.

As per his personal portfolio, “Jay Panda represents the new face of Indian politicians, several of whom have been educated abroad and have had alternate careers before choosing to serve the nation through politics. He graduated from the Michigan Technological University and with a background in Engineering and Management, worked in the corporate sector before joining politics.”

“Jay Panda had helped to form the erstwhile Young Parliamentarians Forum (YPF) and was its Convener. He has also been associated with the India-USA Forum of Parliamentarians from its founding in 2001 and is currently its Chairman. He was awarded the “Bharat Asmita National Award” for best parliamentary practices by the Hon’ble Chief Justice of India in 2008,” his personal portfolio evinces.

The 50th SKOCH Summit was held on Wednesday and Thursday (December 20-21) at the Constitution Club of India in the national capital city New Delhi.

Notably, Skoch Group is a think tank dealing with socio-economic issues with a focus on inclusive growth since 1997.

The group companies include a consulting wing, a media wing and a charitable foundation.

Skoch Group has instituted India’s highest independent civilian honours in the field of governance, finance, technology, economics and social sector.
