**Bhubaneswar:** Buses, taxis, auto-rickshaws, and heavy vehicles have kept off roads since 6 am in view of the nationwide strike called by the Transport Workers’ Federation today.
Students, passengers and daily commuters across the state are having a tough time as transport services discontinued their services for the day.
Along with the transport strike, continuous rains have added to the woes. Office goers too had a tough time reaching to their destinations as private buses remained off roads.
As per reports, the transportation of goods and other essential commodities is also likely to get disrupted due to the strike.
Notably, the All Odisha Transport Workers’ Federation had extended its support to the 24-hour nationwide transport strike. Several other trade unions have also backed the strike tomorrow to press for withdrawal of decision to amend the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988.
