Cuttack: The Annual General Meeting of the Odisha Cricket Association was held here on Sunday. Apart from the major issues concerning cricket in the State, a discussion was held on smooth conduct of the one day international match between India and West Indies at the Barabati Stadium on December 22.
OCA Chairman Sanjay Behera said that a budget of Rs 6 crore has been set by the association for the arrangement of the day and night ODI which will be the third mathch of West Indies tour of India.
“The event has been insured for Rs 22 crore with a premium at Rs 14 lakh. We have made all necessary arrangement for offering the best venue for the upcoming ODI,” he said.
Behera said that restoration of the floodlights will be completed in next 4-5 days. “The stadium has sustained damage during the cyclone Fani. But we are hopeful of completing all the restoration work much before the match,” he added.
On Saturday, Cuttack DCP visited the stadium and assessed the security arrangements. The usual three-tiered security will be in place for the match, with a security check at outer barricade for ticket inspection, then at inner gate and the final one inside the stadium.
