Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued predicted thunderstorms and heavy rainfall with lightning and gusty winds of 40-50 kmph in several Odisha districts from April 15 to 18.
According to the IMD forecast, thunderstorms with lightning and gusty surface winds reaching 40-50 kmph are expected in the afternoon and evening hours across various districts in the state between April 15 to April 18.
Here’s a breakdown of the forecast for the next four days.
“Thunderstorm with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph very likely to occur in the afternoon/evening hours at one or two over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangapur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar”, read the IMD prediction for April 15.
Going by the IMD prediction for April 16, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Angul, Sundargarh, Dhenkanal, Boudh, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput and Malkangiri will likely experience thunderstorms and lightning. These districts have been issued yellow warning.
As per April 17 prediction, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangapur, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Mayurbhanj and Keonjhar districts will likely face thunderstorm with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph.
On April 18, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangapur and Rayagada districts are expected to face thunderstorm with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph. These districts have been issued yellow warnings.
