**Nabarangpur:** In a shocking incident, two of the subordinate staffs have brought harassment charges against Nabarangpur Superintendent of Police (SP) Vivekanand Sharma.
The two complainants have been identified as Rabin Kumar Lima and Debaraj Chanda were working as orderly at the residence of Sharma.
The personnel have accused that the SP have allegedly harassed them by beating them up, punching one of them and making to do sit-ups to another. They accused that they were punished for minor faults.
Rabin Kumar Lima said, “SP asked me wake him up at 9 am but when I woke him up he did not responded, again I tried waking him up at 9:45 am. He woke up and got mad at me for not waking him up at 9 am. He did not listen to me and ordered me 50 sit-ups and then 10 rounds of the places, I was tired and my stomach was aching yet he asked me for 10 more rounds. Then my situation worsened and I was taken to Nabrangpur hospital and later was admitted in the ICU of Koraput District Headquarters Hospital (DHH).”
As his situation bettered, Lima was sent home by Saturday night.
Another orderly Debraj Chanda, leveling similar charges, said, “The SP called me to his room, passed abusive remarks and punched my stomach. He had earlier done the same a few times.”
Meanwhile, SP Vivekanand Sharma could not be contacted over the allegations brought against him.
