**Rourkela:** Over Rs 9 lakh cash was seized from two cars by officials of the static surveillance team in Rourkela city last night. While Rs 6 lakh was seized from a car at Ambagan Chhak here, another Rs 3.20 lakh was seized from a separate four-wheeler in Kuarmunda-Birmitrapur road, stated reports.
The incident took place when officials engaged in the election duty were patrolling in the area. While the nodal officer has started probe into the matter, the people traveling in the vehicle failed to justify the source behind huge cache of cash.
The cash was seized in the presence of the local magistrates and further investigation is on.
