Bhubaneswar: The counting of votes for the panchayat elections in Odisha will commence at 8 AM of February 26 with panchayat-wise tables to be set up for the process, said State Election Commission (SEC) Secretary Rabindra Sahu on Wednesday.
The counting will be held as per the numerical order of the Zilla Parishad Zones. One table will be set up for each gram panchayat under each Zilla Parishad Zone. Another table will be set up for Election Officer and for the persons who will assist him or her.
Counting for all wards under a gram panchayat will be done on the table meant for the said gram panchayat. The results will be declared after ward-wise counting, added Sahu.
He further informed that today re-polling is underway amid tight security and videography facility at 49 booths, including 24 in Jajpur, six in Bhadrak, and five in Puri.
