Bhubaneswar: State Election Commissioner (SEC) Aditya Prasad Padhi today reviewed security arrangements for the counting of votes scheduled to be held on February 26, 27, and 28 at all block headquarters after the panchayat elections.
The SEC discussed with DGP Sunil Bansal and ADGP RK Sharma on the elaborate security arrangements to be adopted to maintain law and order till the counting of votes is over.
Maintenance of law and order especially in the event of counting extending till night, crowd control outside counting centres, etc figured out during the discussions.
The SEC directed for issuing direction to SPs for maintenance of strict vigil to ensure that there is no indiscipline anywhere under any circumstances.
Among others, the Commission’s Secretary Rabindra Nath Sahu and Special Secretary Raghuram R Aiyer were present during the review.
