Bhubaneswar: Odisha Abhibhavak Mahasangh (OAM), a body comprising parents of students in the State today demanded an inquiry by the Vigilance or a high level inquiry into the allegation over fixing of +2 examination centres in the State. The OAM has sought the probe report within a week.
“We demand a Vigilance inquiry or a high level inquiry. We also want to know its outcome within a week, otherwise we parents and our wards will remain in dilemma over the sanctity of +2 colleges,” said Basudev Bhatta, chairman of OAM addressing a presser here today.
The OAM chairman said that they will wait for the concerned Minister’s response in this connection for a week and then meet the Chief Minister.
Bhatta demanded removal of politicians from the committee that selects examination centres for the conduct of +2 exam and replace them with educationists.
Notably, Congress MLA Santosh Singh Saluja and BJD MLA Kishore Mohanty who are members in the +2 exam committee that finalizes examination centres for the conduct of +2 exam had on Friday alleged that some corrupt officials had changed the list of examination centres by taking bribes.
They had said that they would be raising the issue in the Assembly in the forthcoming session.
