**Jajpur:** Despite several notifications from the railway authorities cautioning people to not stand too close to the door of a train, a man was killed after he fell off a moving passenger train in Jenapur area here today morning.
The deceased has been identified as Akshaya Kumar Sethi of Bhadrak.
The incident occurred near the Passenger Halt at Brahmani Bridge, when a man in the Howrah-Puri express was standing too close to the door to alight the locomotive.
According to the deceased’s relatives, Sethi was sleeping and had missed his station. When he realized his mistake, Sethi tried to get off a moving train in a drowsy condition.
Soon after the accident, his leg was cut off in the track and he was rushed to the nearby hospital but doctors declared him dead.
