Odisha: ‘Patha Utsav’ To Continue On Bhubaneswar Streets, Says Tourism Minister

**Bhubaneswar:** The cultural street extravaganza that was revived after a long break on Janpath streets in view the Odisha Hockey Men’s World Cup and .FEST (Bhubaneswar City Festival), will continue for the time-being said Odisha Tourism and Culture Minister Ashok Panda.

While it was set to be organized only for three Sundays this edition- Dec 2, 9 and 16 due to the ongoing road construction work, the Minister today spread cheer by revealing that the street meet will continue until further notice.

After flagging off today’s event, Panda in his media reaction said, “We had earlier informed that this time Patha Utsav would happen for only three Sundays but BDA, BMC, the mayor and the MLAs have taken a joint decision today to keep Patha Utsav alive for the time-being. And, Odisha’s Tourism department will provide its unconditional support for the event.”

The happiness was palpable in the atmosphere as more than 20,000 enthusiastic early risers hit the streets of Janpath to partake in Patha Utsav which was held from 06:00 am to 10:00 am.

Initiated by Bhubaneswar Development Association (BDA), Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) and Odisha Tourism, the spirit of the street festival promoting non-motorised transport and healthy living was rebooted today as part of .FEST (Bhubaneswar City Festival). The central theme of today’s Patha Utsav was hockey as the street event is being held during the Odisha Men’s World Cup Hockey-2018.
