Ganjam: While Ganjam district’s Berhampur parliamentary constituency and the assembly segments under it have already undergone the Phase-I polling on April 11, its another parliamentary constituency Aska along with its assembly segments are all set for the Phase-II polling tomorrow (April 18).
Convening a joint press meet, Collector & District Magistrate Vijay Amruta Kulange and Ganjam SP Brijesh Kumar Rai briefed the media about the elaborate arrangements made for a smooth conduct of free and fair election here.
The Ganjam Collector informed, “Ganjam is ready for the second phase voting. Polling will be held in 1946 booths. It includes Aska PC (Parliamentary Constituency) and 8 ACs (Assembly Constituencies). A part of Kandhamal PC is also in it. It’s Bhanjanagar.”
He further informed, “Voting time is from 7 am to 6 pm while in Bhanjanagar the voting time is 7 am to 4 pm.”
He also informed, “For the second phase, approximately 17 lakh and 69 thousand voters we have here. We have re-exercised today so that our target for tomorrow will be 100% successful mock poll within a time. We’re ensuring to fill up the gaps wherever detected.”
