Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government will implement sensor-based IoT devices to monitor lift irrigation projects across the state, starting with 37,000 Community Lift Irrigation Projects (CLIPs). The decision was taken during a high-level meeting chaired by Anu Garg, Development Commissioner-cum-Additional Chief Secretary of the Water Resources Department, at Lokseva Bhawan on Friday.
The new system will enable real-time tracking of water distribution and project performance to improve governance and maintenance. Officials from Odisha Lift Irrigation Corporation (OLIC), Odisha Computer Application Centre (OCAC), and Rural Water Supply and Sanitation (RWSS) department attended the meeting and discussed the technical implementation.
This initiative marks a significant step in using technology for efficient water resource management in the state. The first phase covering 37,000 CLIPs is expected to begin soon.
