Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Police has delivered an impressive performance at the 26th All India Police Shooting Competition (AIPDM), securing the second position among police forces from across the country. The prestigious event was held at the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) facility in Gurugram, Haryana, from March 22 to 30.
Demonstrating remarkable marksmanship, the Odisha Police team accumulated a total of 1,601 points. The team scored 743 points in Rifle Shooting, 531 points in Pistol Shooting, and 327 points in Carbine Shooting, earning them the runner-up position overall.
In an individual achievement, shooter Akshay Kumar Sahani (S/131), currently posted at SSBN, Bhubaneswar, clinched a silver medal by finishing second in the 300 yards Snap category.
Congratulating the team on their outstanding accomplishment, Director General of Police Yogesh Bahadur Khurania lauded the efforts of the medal winner, team members, Deputy Commandant, Team Manager, and Coach M.S.A. Farid for bringing laurels to the state.
