Bhubaneswar: In a bid to enhance cybersecurity awareness among the public, the Odisha Police’s 16 Cyber Raths (Cyber Chariots) are touring urban and rural areas across the state.
The LED panels on these Raths display informative video messages that have attracted significant attention, particularly from students, leading to a noticeable rise in interest and awareness about online safety.
Since the launch, more than 2.5 lakh citizens have actively participated in rallies, seminars, workshops, and public meetings, contributing to a safer cyber environment.
The campaign was inaugurated on October 18, 2025, by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi at Kalinga Stadium, Bhubaneswar, where all 16 Cyber Raths were flagged off.
All 33 police districts are participating in the campaign, organizing programs in schools, colleges, and public spaces. Over 50 inauguration ceremonies have been conducted across the state. In addition, pamphlets on cybersecurity are being distributed at key locations, while LED panels display videos highlighting cyber safety measures.
In Puri district, a walkathon attracted thousands of participants, while in Mayurbhanj, street plays on cybersecurity, performed in collaboration with local artists, drew large audiences.
Balasore district saw over 20,000 participants in awareness programs, while Kalahandi and Sambalpur recorded participation of over 15,000 and 12,000 citizens, respectively.
The initiatives have been widely appreciated for raising public awareness and highlighting the proactive role of the police in promoting a safer online environment.
