Odisha Police Nabs ATM-Fraud Gang From Dhanbad
**Nabarangpur:** The Nabarangpur Police on Tuesday busted a gang of 7 ATM frauds, for allegedly siphoning off lakhs of rupees using various e-wallets.
A 3-member team, led by Nabarangpur SP Sudhanshu Shekhar Mishra, arrested these crooks from Dhanbad in Jharkhand on basis of an FIR filed on 11th January this year.
Briefing the media, Nabarangpur SP Sudhanshu Shekhar Mishra said, “These racketeers, operating from Jharkhand, used to collect ATM details from the victims through phones posing themselves to be bank officials. After that, they used various e-wallet companies to draw money from these accounts.”
After registering the complaint, the investigating team immediately co-ordinated with the district cyber cell and traced the money trail.
According to police, this racket might have tricked numerous people from across the state. All the accused are currently being questioned for more information concerning this.
As many as 60 SIM cards, 21 mobile phones, and 10 ATM cards have also been seized during the raid.
