Bhubaneswar: Odisha Police has announced the revocation of suspension orders for four police personnel implicated in a torture case involving an Indian Army official and his fiancée.
The state police headquarters has announced the revocation of suspension orders.
The police personnel include SI Baishalini Panda, Sagarika Rath, Salilamayee Sahu, and constable Balaram Hansda.
However, the suspension order against the then inspector-in-charge Dinkrushna Mishra remains in effect.
Notably, the incident occurred when the Army major and his female friend were allegedly tortured by the police when they had gone to the police station to complain about a road rage incident on September 14 night. Some youths allegedly harassed them on the road on the same night.
Instead of addressing their concerns, the police allegedly tortured the Major and the woman, even sending her to jail without any justification.
