Kendrapara: Tension erupted in the strongroom at Kendrapara College on Saturday night after polling concluded for Patkura assembly seat. As per reports, a polling officer was allegedly attacked by a party's agents who claimed the VVPAT machines had been unlocked.

Sources said that Chitaranjan Das of Booth no- 294 had gone to deposit the EVM and VVPAT machines when the security personnel said that the battery has to be removed. Das was supposed to do this before leaving the booth.

To avoid any delay, Das opened the machines in front of the strongroom to remove the battery. Soon, the news spread and a political party's agents reached the spot and thrashed Das alleging that the machines were replaced.

Soon after the incident, cops reached the spot and calmed the situation.
