Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today led the people of Odisha in the one-minute silent prayer for COVID warriors who have sacrifised their lives in the line of duty.
“In Odisha, 25 COVID warriors have sacrifised their lives in the service of mankind. Their supreme sacrifice for humanity will be remembered, it is unmatched,” Naveen said.
25,000 COVID patients have recovered in Odisha. It was possible due to the relentless efforts of the COVID warriors of the State, he added.
The prayer was followed by an oathtaking intended to remind all of us to act responsibly and strictly follow COVID guidelines – to keep ourselves and our families safe.
The Chief Minister himself administered the oath to people of Odisha. The oath was read in Odia, and it stated:
I am native of Odisha, I pledge to support the COVIVD warriors and respect them;
COVID is a battle fought by one and all, and I am also a part of this;
I will encourage the COVID warriors and their efforts;
I will not let their sacrifices go in vain;
I pledge to follow the COVID guidelines and will create awareness among others also;
I will win, my Odisha will win and the whole humankind will win this battle against COVID;
Bande Utkal Janani.
