27 February 2020

Khurda: Headmistress of Ranganisahi government primary school of Tulasipur in Cuttack district was caught by anti-graft vigilance wing for allegedly taking Rs 2000 bribe for providing necessary papers for insurance policy.

Briefing on raid, Khurda Vigilance DSP Sushant Panigrahi said, “An insurance agent Udyanath Pradhan had taken charge of doing policy of four ex-students of the school. Since the youths were not 10th pass, they needed to get necessary papers duly signed from school’s headmistress. The accused sought Rs 500 per student to sign the papers. Since Pradhan did not want to indulge in such illegal activity, he contacted us.”

The headmistress was caught red-handed by the vigilance officers while accepting the bribe money from the complainant, added Panigrahi. He also said that raids are underway at her rented place at Banki and her ancestral house under Salepur police limits.
