Bhubaneswar: As +2 wing is now a part and parcel of Odisha School and Mass Education Department and Rama Devi college has already been granted University status, the authorities have decided to shift the +2 wing from its existing varsity campus.
This was informed to media by Rama Devi University Vice-Chancellor Padmaja Mishra today.
Interacting with media, Rama Devi University Vice-Chancellor Padmaja Mishra said, “Yes it will be separated as per the Government’s policy and there had also been the instruction by Government. Accordingly, the work has also begun.”
“The higher secondary school wing will be on the premises of Unit 9 Girls’ High School. Recently, a meeting in this regard was held. The building construction is about to start. Survey work has been over.”
“It will take 2-3 years for shifting after the building construction is over. Not before that. Not from the coming academic session, I don’t expect that. At least it has been finalized that it will be shifted to Unit 9 Girls’ High School. There will be building and laboratory. In between it will run in cooperation. It is a must.”
On being queried by media about the proposed second campus of the university, she replied, “There has been no discussion on the second campus of the university. We have received a letter that there should be one more discussion in the appropriate committee and present whatever suggestions and proposals we have. That meeting has been planned to be convened next week. Let’s wait and watch about the solution.”
