Odisha Records 409 New COVID Positives, 5 Deaths

Bhubaneswar: A fresh 409 positive cases of COVID-19 were detected in Odisha till midnight of Friday, while five more patients have succumbed to the disease today.

As per the Information & Public Relations Department, among the new cases, 234 are in Quarantine and 175 are Local contacts. District-wise details of the cases are as under:

8. Deogarh: 2
9. Dhenkanal: 1

13. Jharsuguda: 11
14. Kalahandi: 17
15. Kendrapada: 16
16. Keonjhar: 10
17. Khurda: 44
18. Koraput: 3
19. Malkangiri: 1
20. Mayurbhanj: 25
21. Nawarangpur: 5
22. Nayagarh: 2
23. Nuapada: 11
24. Puri: 14
25. Rayagada: 4
26. Sambalpur: 11
27. Sundargarh: 53
28. State Pool: 10

As informed by the Health & Family Welfare Department, two COVID positive patients in Khordha and one each in Jagatsinghpur, Nayagarh and Puri have succumbed to the disease.

Details of the deceased persons are as under:

1. A 55-year-old male of Bhubaneswar who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus & Hypertension.
2. A 79-year-old female of Bhubaneswar.
3. A 59-year-old male of Jagatsinghpur district.
4. A 50-year-old male of Nayagarh district.
5. A 72-year-old male of Puri district who was suffering from Diabetes Mellitus & Hypertension.
