Odisha Records High Temperatures In 12 Cities; Bhubaneswar At 36.2°C

Bhubaneswar: Odisha is grappling with soaring temperatures, as 12 cities recorded mercury levels above 35°C on Sunday, according to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD). Bhubaneswar registered 36.2°C, while Jharsuguda topped the state at 36.4°C, highlighting the intensity of the current hot spell.

Other towns reporting high temperatures included Subarnapur at 36.2°C, Angul at 36.1°C, Baripada at 36°C, and Chandbali, Talcher, Titlagarh and Dhenkanal at 35.8°C. Sambalpur recorded 35.6°C, Bhawanipatna 35.4°C, and Bolangir 35°C.

Several other regions were also affected, with Paralakhemundi at 34.8°C, Sundergarh at 34.5°C, Rourkela and Cuttack at 34.4°C, and Jagatsinghpur at 34°C. The coolest areas were Daringbadi and Nabarangpur, which recorded a relatively mild 30°C.

The IMD has advised residents to take precautionary measures, including staying hydrated, avoiding prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, and monitoring vulnerable groups such as children and the elderly.
