Bhubaneswar: Fatalities due to road accidents in Odisha have recorded a decline by 43.5% in the four months of lockdown April to July, according to a statement shared by the State Transport Authority (STA) twitter.
The STA has said that 1048 fatalities were reported in the period April to July 2020 as compared to 1853 fatalities during the corresponding period in 2019.
Giving details, the STA has stated that the number of fatalities reduced by 74% in April, 42% in May, 18% in June and 19% in July.
In the first seven months of this year from January to July death due to road accidents has reduced by 30%, the STA added.
