Bhubaneswar: In the last 24 hours, 1528 new novel coronavirus cases were registered even as 14 patients succumbed to the deadly disease in Odisha.
The total confirmed detections surged to 47,455. Of the new cases, 948 were in quarantine and rest 580 are local contact cases, reported I&PR Department.
Of the new cases that are spread over 29 districts, the highest of 233 is from Ganjam closely followed by 218 in Khordha district. Next comes Sambalpur with 168, Sundargarh with 126 and Dhenkanal with 107 COVID-19 cases.

Also, 14 corona patients lost the battle even as the total coronavirus-related deaths touched 286, informed H&FW Department.

1. A 30-year old Male of Nayagarh district who was also suffering from Chronic Kidney Disease.
2. A 34-year old male of Nayagarh district.
3. A 78-year old male of Nayagarh district.
4. An 84-year old female of Bhubaneswar.
5. An 82-year old male of Khordha district who was also suffering from Diabetes & hypertension.
6. A 69-year old male of Khordha district who was also suffering from Chronic Kidney Disease
7. An 85-year old male of Ganjam district.
8. A 65-year old male of Ganjam district.
9. A 70-year old female of Ganjam district who was also suffering from hypertension.
10. A 50-year old male of Ganjam district who was also suffering from end-stage Chronic Kidney Disease.
Regret to inform the demise of fourteen #COVID19 positive patients while under treatment in hospitals.

In addition to these 14 fatalities, two COVID-19 patients succumbed because of other comorbid conditions.
1. A 27-year old female of Balasore district who expired due to Amniotic fluid embolism.
2. A 45-year old female of Sundergarh district who expired due to Decompensated Chronic Liver Disease, Hepatic encephalopathy, Ventricular tachycardia.
