Bhubaneswar: One person died due to COVID-19 in the State on Saturday. The fatality has been reported from Khurda which has logged the highest number of deaths, 1,605, due to coronavirus among all 30 districts.
With this, the State’s COVID death toll rose to 8,464. After Khurda, Cuttack district has the most number of deaths, 860 following by Sundergarh (592).
With 424 new cases on Saturday, Odisha’s COVID tally surged to 10,55,980. Total 10,45,121 persons have recovered from the disease in Odisha where the number of active cases is 2,501.
Among the new cases, 177 are from Khurda followed by 45 in Cuttack and 38 in Sundergarh. The districts – Deogarh, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Koraput, Nayagarh, Nuapada, Subarnapur, Malkangiri, Bhadrak and Angul did not report any new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday.
