Bhubaneswar: In a stern warning to corrupt government officials, Odisha Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari has made it clear that the state government will not tolerate any form of graft.
“The campaign against corruption has begun, and no one will be spared. Whoever engages in corruption will go to jail, regardless of their position or influence,” he asserted while speaking to mediapersons.
The minister’s warning comes amid a recent crackdown on corruption, with several government officials already facing investigation and arrest. On Sunday, a raid on an IAS officer’s residence resulted in the seizure of Rs 47 lakh, allegedly demanded as a bribe from a crusher businessman.
Pujari emphasised that the government is committed to rooting out corruption and will take strict action against those found guilty. “We urge everyone to cooperate with us and refrain from giving or taking bribes. Both giving and taking bribes are equally serious offences. The Minister reiterated that corruption will be met with strict action, warning that anyone found guilty will face imprisonment,” he said.
The minister’s statement comes as part of an ongoing effort to clean up governance and hold individuals accountable, regardless of their position or influence. With several government officials already under investigation and facing arrest, the message is clear that corruption will not be tolerated.
